Norman Jarnigan, age 87, of Thorn Hill, born May 25, 1937, departed this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. He was a faithful member of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church and served as a deacon and song leader. He was preceded in death by his son, Lynn Jarnigan; granddaughter, Carsitta Rucker; parents, William and Ina Jarnigan; brothers, Fred, Hugh, Earl, and William “June” Jarnigan; and sisters, Jessie Boitnett, Fern Jarnigan, and Imogene Wilder. He is survived by his wife of sixty nine years, Betty Jarnigan; son, Lank Jarnigan; daughters, Linda (Rick) Kirkham, Brenda (Robert) Dalton, and Lamanda (Chris) McCoy; grandchildren, Lance (Allyson) Jarnigan, Wendy (Corey) Atkins, Kelly Rucker, Matthew Dalton, Kevin (Brittany) Dalton, Natalie Caudill, and Harlee Caudill; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a host of relatives and friends. Special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice caregivers, Whitney, Chasity, and April. The family will receive friends from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 29th at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Thorn Hill. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. Bob Davis, Rev. Terry Dalton, and Rev. Arnold Dalton officiating and Jerry Epperson singing. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 30th at Wolfe Cemetery in Thorn Hill for graveside services. Pallbearers will be Lance Jarnigan, Matthew Dalton, Kevin Dalton, Corey Atkins, Zaylen Shelton, and Conley Allen. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
