Oliver Joe West, Sr. age 94,born on May 5, 1930, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at his residence. He was a lifelong employee in the furniture business. He enjoyed frequently using his C.B. radio. His C.B. handle was KDK6610 Smoky Joe. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Georgia Lee Mooney West; daughter, Dorothy Gaye Royston; sons, Oliver Joe West, Jr., and Jerry Keith West, Sr. He is survived by his daughters, Rosa Lee Simpson, Marie Ann Lawson, Judy Carol Lawson, Garla Gwen Cooner, Wanda Faye Belcher, Patricia Lynn Arwood; son, James Herbert West; and many loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00p.m. on Monday, December 2nd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet for an 11 a.m. graveside service on Tuesday, December 3rd at Dodson Creek Cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
