Omer “Ronald” Collins, age 91, of Sneedville, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 10, 2024. He was a member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved fishing, coon hunting, wood working, and enjoyed making items for his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Miller Collins and Jessie Beatrice Collins; brothers, Leon Doris Collins and Walter Cline Collins. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Jane Turner Collins; daughters, Tammy (Jimmy) Gibson and Karen (Randy) Breeding; grandchildren, Joshua Myron (Marianne Morris) Gibson, Bradley Earl (Chrissy) Gibson, Austin Ryan (Alicia) Breeding, and Emily Grace (Seth Lunsford) Breeding; great grandchild, Madison Layne Gibson; and special friend, Rodney Greene. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service on Tuesday, October 15th at Burdine-Collin Cemetery in Hawkins County. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to his home church Cherokee Heights Baptist Church in Morristown. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
