Opal Lorene (Lancaster) Cameron: With a heart that knew no boundaries for Love and Forgiveness, Opal Lorene (Lancaster) Cameron relinquished her Soul into the Hands of Jesus when HE told her that It was time to come Home on the morning of October 27, 2024. Her worry and pain is no more. Born February 2, 1937, more than 87 years of love was bestowed on her family, friends, and neighbors. She dedicated her Soul to Jesus in her youth. She married Dee Cameron in 1955 until his passing in 2000. She was a charter member of Sartain Springs Missionary Baptist Church where she was Secretary for Sunday School from 1969 until 2023. She was preceded in death also by her parents, Eugene Lancaster and Carrie Gibbons Lancaster Chastain; a multitude of loved ones including her brother, Don and his wife Carolyn; special cousins, Beatrice, Dorothy, James, and others; several of the Hopkins Family who consider her to be their sister; and special neighbors, Opal Henson and Ruth Fisher. Opal is survived by her sons, Frank (Karen), Darrell, and Wendell; grandson, Joshua (Emily); great-granddaughter, Autumn Forrest Cheyenne Cameron and Beth Fisher; all of Talbott; Along with very special friends Jennifer Bacon, Sarah Smith, and Fred and Doug Hopkins; as well as a host of extended family, friends, and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30th at Sartain Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at Sartain Springs Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, October 31st at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roger Porter and Rev. Phil Hopkins. The body will lie in state from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
