Orpha Ann (Vaughn) Harrell

Orpha Ann Vaughn Harrell, born on August 7, 1944, went home to be with the Lord on July 20th, 2025 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Harrell was a current member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church and was a former member of White Oak Grove Baptist Church for 60 years. She was devoted to her Christian faith and her family. She retired from Morristown West High School where she worked in the cafeteria for over 30 years. Mrs. Orpha was a devoted grandmother to her two grandchildren Weston and Chesney, and recently to her great-grandchild Anna Grace who she called “her sweetie pie”. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She lived her life as an example to all with her Christian values and devotion to her family. Mrs. Harrell was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Miller Lee Vaughn and Mable Green Vaughn; brothers, Bill and Eddie Vaughn; and sister, Norma Jean Vaughn; brothers-in-law, Vernon and Waymon Harrell and Gorman Lipe; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Harrell. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James “Mousey” Harrell; daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Holt; grandson, Weston (Ashley) Holt; granddaughter, Chesney Holt (fiancée Chad Broyles); great-granddaughter, Anna Grace Holt; brother-in-law, Glen “Rooster” Harrell; sisters-in-law, Unav Lipe and Barbara Harrell; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 23rd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Ted Phillips and Rev. Jeff Holt officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
