Peggy Ruth (Lambert) Burris

Peggy Lambert Burris, age 87, of Bean Station, formerly of Morristown, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 2, 2023 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd, Sr. and Marie Clark Lambert; husband, Jerry R. Burris, Sr.; son, Jerry R. Burris, Jr.; son-in-law, Mark W. Ramsey; brothers, Floyd Lambert, Jr., Donald Lambert, Buddy Lambert, and Glenn Lambert; and sisters, Wanda Whetsell and Lois Fletcher. She is survived by her son, Dale (Regina) Burris; daughter, Tracy Burris Ramsey; grandchildren, Chris Burris, Tiffany (Dayton) Pillion, Jerry R. III (Julie) Burris, Melanie (Jimmie) Seals, Greg (Marlah) Burris, and Larry (Audrey) Hance; sister-in-law, Margie Burris; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren, Isaac and Jordyn. She was saved at an early age and loved her church. She was a long-time member of Alpha Baptist Church. Peggy worked over thirty years in retail and retired from J.C. Penney’s. Special thanks to Amedysis Hospice for their continued care and a special thanks to Shaunda and Faye for their exemplary care and always putting a smile on her face. They made this journey more peaceful for her and her family. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. Friday, May 5th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Garland Long officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
