Ray Bishop

Ray Bishop, age 84, of Talbott, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 at his residence. He was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church in Dandridge. Ray was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and loved his family, the Lord, and his church. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Hurd and Bertha Mae Bishop; brothers, Fred Bishop and Jessie Bishop; sisters, Polly Cornwell, Juanita Wester, Marie McCoig, and Jane Skelton; and infant son, Anthony Ray Bishop. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Clara “Bertie” Bishop; son, Robert (Lori) Bishop; daughter, Lisa Stapleton; grandchildren, Fanta (Brandon) Henderson, Shasta Stapleton, and Alexis Bishop; great-grandchildren, Legion Henderson and Daiken Henderson; brother, Lee Bishop; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his friends, Ed and Dana McBee. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday, December 3rd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Don Holt officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
