Rev. Clayton Coffey, age 76, of Bean Station, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a member of Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station, the current pastor of Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Clayton loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, but more than anything, he loved his Lord, family, church family, and friends. He was a hard worker, always providing for his family, friends, and community. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Washie N. “Jess”, Jr. and Annie Mae Coffey; and brother, Jesse Coffey. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Ruth Coffey; children, Tammy (Jeff) Dalton, Kim Roberts, Amanda (Robbie) Ferrell, and Jon Coffey; grandchildren, McKinley Dalton, Matthew Roberts, Marcus (Taylor) Roberts, Jacob Repass, Jonathan Greene, Taylor (Tanner) Stueber, Chelsey Carpenter, and Chloe Warwick; great-grandchild, Memphis Stueber; brother, Truman Coffey; sisters, Edith (Lee) Johnson and Doris (Phillip) Couch; and beloved nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8th at Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Donnie Coleman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
