Rev. Leonard "Caney" Doyle Carpenter

Rev. Leonard “Caney” Doyle Carpenter, age 80 of Bean Station, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026. He was a member of Freedom’s Chapel Church in Bean Station and had been the pastor of several churches in the area. He retired from the Morristown City Fire Department. Leonard loved the Lord and his family and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Carpenter; parents, Andrew Amos and Bessie Carpenter; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons, Scott (Sherry) Carpenter and Donnie Carpenter; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many special friends and church family. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 21st at Freedom’s Chapel in Bean Station. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. Lonnie Dalton and Rev. Leonard Dalton officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 22nd at Freedom’s Chapel Cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Rick Dalton officiating.
