Robert Wayne Young

Robert Wayne Young, age 58, of Whitesburg, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville in Room MS21 with his family and nurses by his side. Robert chose the way he wanted to be in Heaven with his wife, Traci. He was of the Baptist faith. Robert was a good person and would try to do anything for anybody. He was the best son and dad ever. Robert retired from Lakeway Container. He was preceded in death by his wife, Traci Young; grandparents, Ruby and Chuck; father-in-law, Danny Bishop; aunts and uncles, Ada Ruth and Ray Dickerson, Buddy Smith, Mary Ella and Tommy Eidson, Jackie  Gibson, Joe Allen and Debbie Young, and Billy Robert Young; and cousin, Louis Smith. He is survived by his best son, Jeremy Young, who was at his side every day; parents, Roy M. “Tootie” and Jerusha Young; mother-in-law, Linda Bishop; aunts and uncles, David Gibson, who was also his good friend, Helen Smith, Linda and Bobby Gibson, and Lori Haynes; neighbors, Peanut and Ramona; aunts, Crissy Hickey and Margaret Dickerson; and many cousins and friends. Special thanks to all the nurses and doctors who took great care of Robert. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, August 7th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Robert Bolling officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, August 8th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
