Robert "Zak" Zakary Reed

Robert Z. “Zak” Reed, 53, was born to Bob & Joyce Reed on April 1, 1968 in Morristown, TN. He left behind his broken heart in this life on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 and was reunited with his son, Josh, and his mother, Joyce, who had recently preceded him in death.  Zak had prepared for that day years ago when he placed his faith in God at 6 years old. Although Zak had his share of struggles in this life down here, his faith in God never wavered. Zak had a genuine love for his family and friends that was unmatched. He had spent the last couple of years making up for lost time in his life.Those of us who were lucky enough to be a part of that will be forever grateful!  He was “one of the good ones” as referred to by many friends, as well as an amazing son, dad, brother, uncle, cousin and friend and will be missed beyond words.  Zak was preceded in death by his dad, Bob; mother, Joyce; son, Josh; and brother, Derek.  Left behind to “remember the good times” are his sister, Kristy (Craig) Cornett; brothers, Jason (McKenzie) Reed, Joey (Candi) Reed, and Brent (Regena) Odle; favorite aunts, Aunt Faye Taylor and Aunt Ricki Haskett (Uncle Craig Stewart); and nieces/nephews, who he was crazy about and loved like his own, Madison (Austin), Mollie, Emma, Tyler, Mckenzie, Kalli, Carson, Alana and Grady; many cousins who he shared a special bond with; and countless friends whom he shared lots of wonderful memories with. Zak, like his son and brothers, was an avid sports enthusiast who always kept up with the latest in Indiana Basketball and Notre Dame Football and was absolutely thrilled with the World Series Champions, Atlanta Braves.  We cling to the hope of knowing that we will see Zak again someday and it is for that reason that we can say to him as he said often to us “Catch you on the flip”.  The family will receive friends on Monday, November 15th from 5-7pm with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 at Manley Baptist Church.
