Ronald D. Bowlin, age 72, passed away peacefully on June 3rd, 2024 surrounded by his family. Son of Clara Bowlin (Davidson) and D.H. Bowlin Jr., he was born April 7th, 1952. He graduated from Morristown High School in 1969 and attended East Tennessee State University shortly after. Ron received his Master’s of Education at LMU, and in 1980 was hired at Morristown West High School as a teacher and tennis coach. Both in the classroom and on the hardcourt, “Coach” Bowlin impacted thousands of lives over a 44 year career. His dedication to the community, leadership, and fun-loving personality left a legacy that will forever live on. He was an incredible father, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend, and colleague that will be missed immensely. He was preceded in death by his parents, D.H. and Clara Bowlin. He is survived by his brother, Rodney Bowlin; sister-in-law, Patty Bowlin; daughters, Roxanne Bowlin and Summer Ricker; grandchildren, Daisy Prosser, William Prosser, Raelinn Craig, and Graham Ricker; nieces, Rachael Ausmus and Kristi Bowlin; great grandchildren, Chloe Yeager and Cadyn Weathers. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow. Family and friends will meet at Hamblen Memory Gardens on Friday, June 7th at 12:30pm for graveside service. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
