Ruby Estelle (Johnson) Bryant

Ruby E. Johnson Bryant, age 84, of Morristown, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at her residence. She was born and raised in Lee County, Virginia and came to Morristown after her marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bryant; infant son, Buford Bryant; parents, Lilburn and Alma Johnson; sisters, June (Steve) Zehnder and Laura (Holbert) Welch; brothers, Robert (Frances) Johnson and infant, Paul Johnson; and in-laws, Comey and George Bryant, Wilma (Holbert) Quillen, Grover (Christine) Bryant, and Mae (Bob) Singleton. She is survived by her children, Roberta (Ron) Spires, retired veteran, Johnny (Penny) Bryant, and Louise Ellis; grandchildren, Michelle (Dennis) Richardson, Jacob (Chelsea) Norton, Alexandria (SFC U.S. Army, Robert) Hannes, Joseph Bryant, and Master Sgt. USAF, Devon (Tamara) Ellis; three special step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; siblings, Ted (Lela) Johnson, Wanda (Charlie) Brock, Faye (Oscar) Ayers, Ralph (Mary) Johnson, and Gail (Eddie) Quillen; in-laws, Sue (Leon) Harvey, Charles (Rachael) Taylor, and Mary (Bobby) Bryant; and several nieces, nephews, and family friends. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 p.m. Friday, October 27th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lance Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
