Ruth Ann (Bryant) Rogers, age 84, of Morristown, TN, born on August 17, 1941 and went home to be with the Lord on May 3, 2026, at her home, surrounded by family. Ruth Ann did not just live a life, she filled it. She filled rooms with laughter, filled hearts with kindness, and lived each day with purpose through her faith and love for her family. She was the heart of her family. Her strong faith shaped who she was from the inside out. She was saved at the age of 25 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. As a charter member of Sartain Springs Missionary Baptist Church, she was determined to share her faith with others. Most Sundays, she and her husband, J.D., would load up their car with family, neighbors, and anyone who wanted to go to church, to make sure no one missed the chance to hear God’s Word. She believed in sharing God’s love wherever she could, and she did that every day in how she spoke and cared for others. More than anything, she made sure her family and friends knew Jesus. That was her greatest work. Ruth Ann had a personality that could light up any room. She was spunky, full of life, and quick with humor. She never met a stranger. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel like they had known her for years. She had a special way with babies, cooing, “Are you good?” in a voice her family will always remember. To know her was to love her. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 60 years, James David “J.D.” Rogers Sr.; her parents, Tom and Eliza Viles Bryant; and her daughters, Mary Francis Rogers and Tammy Louise Rogers; as well as her six brothers and six sisters. She leaves behind her eldest daughter, Georgia Ora (Johnny) Greene of Morristown; son, James David “Jimmy” (Melinda) Rogers Jr. of Russellville; and her youngest daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Darlene Welch of the home. Her influence lives on through her eight grandchildren, Andy Roach, Coty (Christa) Greene, Alex Hudson, Wesley Welch, Cory Rogers, Taylor (Brittney) Greene, Tanner (Kaitlyn) Welch, and Kirsten (Cody) Sturgill. She was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren, Linley Greene, Abel Welch, Ava Welch, Jace Greene, Baylor Welch, Charli Sturgill, Addy Greene, Carsyn Welch, Bear Greene, Jack Greene, Remington Sturgill, and Ryder Welch. She was lovingly known as “Aunt Ruth Ann” to many special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Sartain Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Porter, Rev. Phil Hopkins, and Rev. Scott Greene officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to funeral service. Interment services will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
