Ruth Taylor Sawyer, 67, passed peacefully at home with her husband and daughter by her side on Thursday, October 8, 2020. A loving wife to Christopher Sawyer for 44 years and proud mother of Brittany Sawyer. Ruth was active in her church, where she sang in the church choir and taught children’s Sunday school. Known for her fashion sense, she enjoyed working at Dawson’s and Polly Kay. Ruth is remembered for her thoughtful, generous spirit and loving devotion. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents James and Harriett Taylor. She is survived by her husband Christopher Sawyer; daughter Brittany Sawyer of Washington, D.C.; her siblings Jacquelyn Clements and husband Mick of Sandpoint, ID, Jane Rhinehart and husband Steve of Lenoir City, TN, Deborah Taylor of Lenoir City, TN, and James Andrew Taylor and wife Lori of Sterling, VA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Westside Chapel and a private graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Morristown with Rev. Charoltte Fawver officiating.
