Sandra Carol Helton Carpenter, age 75, of Mooresburg, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, unexpectedly. Sandra was born on January 1, 1951 in Morristown, Tennessee to the late Ernest Helton and Virginia Alieen “Nanny” Stubblefield. She was a loving mother, Nana, and friend who brought warmth, love, and strength to everyone who knew her. Sandra, otherwise known as Ms. Sandy, owned a daycare center, sunshine daycare, for over 30 years in the Bean Station area. She used her background as a school teacher creating a safe space for children to learn and grow, leaving lasting impressions on these young children. After closing her business doors, she began working at Patients Clinic of Morristown as their front desk receptionist. At Patients Clinic she continued to touch the lives of everyone who walked through the office doors, greeting them each with a smile day in and day out, treating every one with kindness. Here she created a second family with her coworkers and loved her job and the work she was providing. Outside of being a strong independent woman, Sandra loved God, her family, friends, and church fiercely. She cherished her children and her grandchildren above all things and loved spending every second she could with them. Her family was the light of her life and she was the most amazing mother and Nana. Sandra is survived by her eldest daughter, Jessica (Troy Barnard) Livingston; her son, Stephen (Tiffany) Carpenter; her siblings, Derwin (Evelyn) Helton, Kenny Helton, and Kay Lynn (Jim) Chapman; her grandchildren, Mark (Bree) Widener, Aaron (Emma) Livingston, Reno (Skylee) Livingston, Destiny Widener, Eric Carpenter, Jada Tooley, Abby Barnard, Benjamin Carpenter, and Cassie Barnard; her great-grandchildren, Emma Widener, Adalynn Esparza, Brynlee Esparza, Maggie Merck, Ansley Widener, Rebecca Widener, Winston Livingston, Knox Widener, and one more on the way; her nephews, David (Becky) Helton and Douglas Helton. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Rebecca Carpenter. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday, April 27th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Ben Shoun officiating. Sandra touched many lives and was loved by all who had the chance to know her. She will be greatly missed by all. Isaiah 26:3-4 “3- Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee 4- Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.” Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
