Shirley Ann (Poteete) Carpenter

Shirley Ann Carpenter, age 86, of Dandridge, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026 at Jefferson Park Nursing Home in Dandridge. She attended Mt. Vale Church of God. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a free-spirit, full of class and sass. She always had a clean house and loved cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Carpenter; parents, Emory and Susie Lee Poteete; brothers, Charles, Freeman, Junior, and Lighthall Poteete; and sisters, Willie Hood and Lucy Giles. She is survived by her children, Donna (Jonah) Fuller, Kenny (Diane) Robinson, and Tommy (Mia) Lane; grandchildren, Tabitha (Marty) Lawson, Rory Johnson, Calab (Rachel) Johnson, Charlsie Lane, Austin Lane, and Cindy (Ron) Hagan; sister, Jean Holland; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, March 27th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Roy Stell and Rev. T.H. Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
