Steven “Paul” Atkins, age 49, of Morristown, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, September 7, 2024. He was saved as a young boy and baptized at Highland Baptist Church. As a young boy in school, he loved and participated in football, wrestling, and track. His love for sports continued as he shared his love of racing with several family members and friends. His love for racing continued even more when his son Austin became a dirt track race car driver. They shared many memories together as his sons love for racing grew into many championships. Paul will be deeply missed by all his loved ones. God seen his struggles; his fight is over and his battle was won. He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Atkins; step-father, Larry Lemka; brother, Richard Atkins; fur baby, Smokey; and the love of his life, Stephanie. He is survived by his mother, Ruby Bolden; son, Austin, (Katilyn) Atkins; granddaughter, Abbey Atkins; step-grandson, Jalen Harmon; step-sister, Lisa (Richard) Allen; nephew, Tanner Atkins; step-nephew, Keller (Jaleesa) Carter; step-nieces, Lylah and Gracelyn Carter; and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 11th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jason Lemka officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 12th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
