Terry Neil Dickerson

Terry Dickerson, of Morristown, passed away at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Terry was a dedicated husband, loving father, kind neighbor, and life long athlete. Most people knew Terry as “Chicken” or “Mr. Terry.” Terry coached rec league sports for twenty-six years, playing softball, basketball, tennis, and golf with his special brother, Roy Duncan. For the last sixteen years, Terry was the basketball coach for Manley Elementary Eagles. In 2006, he was inducted into the Morristown Parks and Recreation Hall of Fame. His love for family, friends, and students will be felt for many years to come. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Joe Earl Sr. Dickerson; sisters,Ora Van, Eurlene, and Marie; and brothers, Joey Earl Jr., Wayne,  and Harold; and grandson, Braydon Pearson. He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Joey (Traci) Dickerson, Tracey (Eric) Allen, Hugh (Carla) Pearson, Mike Pearson, Chelsea (Josh) Clemons, and Jessica Price; special cousin, Sandy Thompson; sister- in-law, Charlotte Dickerson; and half-brother, Orville Susong. He is also survived by many more precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their loving compassion and care for Terry. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Terry Bunch officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
