Thomas Franklin “Simon” Chandler, age 68, went to be with the lord on February 2, 2021 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Simon, as most people knew him, loved his family and friends. He would give the shirt off his back, or lend a hand to anyone that needed it. He loved riding his motorcycle, and teaching his kids to ride. He was a hard worker and never missed a day of work until he got sick. On most weekends he would be with his kids and friends on the lake at Evergreen cove. He loved sitting under a good shade tree just watching and waving at people as they went by his house. He was preceded in death by son, Christopher Chandler; grandson, Jacob Wolfenbarger; parents, Jim and Grace Chandler; and siblings, Arlean Corbett, Maxine Hartman, Ronald Chandler, Donald Chandler, John Chandler, and Bobbie Turley. He is survived by daughters, Christy Waggoner (Wes Kelley) and Amanda Chandler; son, Scotty Chandler; grandchildren, Christin (Brice) Barnes, Cedric Chandler, Zach Chandler, Brooklyn May, Damien Gienapp, Nicholas Gienapp,and Izik Ferrier; siblings, Anne Fine, Linda Engle, Sheila Pereia, and Richard “Pickle” Chandler; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Thursday, February 4th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm on Thursday with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet for a 1 pm graveside service Friday, February 5th at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Family request that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing. There will be a celebration of life on May 1st, weather permitting, at Evergreen cove. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
