Virginia Maria Schwegler

Virginia (Ginny) Schwegler, of Jefferson City, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, May 19, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Ginny was born in Golfito, Costa Rica, but moved to the United States and gained her citizenship to study Radiology. It was while she worked in Radiology at a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri that she met the love of her life, Allan. Ginny touched many lives in the Lakeway Area as she worked in Radiology as an X-Ray Technician both in Jefferson City and Morristown. Ginny and her husband Allan also opened Hearthstone Bed and Breakfast in their log home on the lake in Jefferson City. They enjoyed hosting guests from all over the world, and those who stayed at the Bed and Breakfast delighted in Ginny’s homemade Costa Rican breakfasts each morning. Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Schwegler; and her parents, Julio and Virginia Ruiz. Ginny is survived by her three children, Angela (Scott) Helton, Todd (Marcela) Schwegler, and Scott Schwegler; step daughter, Laurie (Bill) Matney; her two grandchildren, Brooke (Will) Taylor, and Oliver Schwegler; sister, Glenda (Lewis) Cunningham; and brother, Julio Ruiz. The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Hospice and family friends Jennifer Moore and Kay McMurry for the excellent care they helped give to Ginny. The family will receive friends at Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown from 5 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27th with a celebration of life service beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Interment will be on Wednesday, May 28 at The East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
