Virginia “Gin” Louise Park Long, age 77, of Morristown, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021. She was a member of Basinger Baptist Church. She had an inspiring work ethic. Virginia worked at Magnavox until they closed, Anchor Brush/Anchor Advanced Products for at least nineteen years, and in the early 80’s, she drove a school bus for the Hamblen County Tennessee School for the Deaf. For the past eighteen years, she worked at Walmart and she ran her Citizen Tribune paper route for close to thirty years. She was working until she became sick at the end of August. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Virginia was an avid shopper, dog lover, and flower gardener. She got her “green thumb” honestly from her mom. She liked collecting a variety of things, but most recently she had a love for snowmen, in which she found much joy. She was loved by many for her friendly personality and giving nature. She was preceded in death by her parents, McAfee “Sambo” Park and Ruth Kropff Park; brothers, Earl Park and Jerry Park; sister and brother-in-law, Anna Carolyn and Eddie Jarnigan of Parrottsville; and brother-in-law, David Long. She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, James “Jim” Long; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and James Morgan of Murfreesboro and Traci and Ben Hodges of Russellville; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Alice Park of Parrottsville; brothers-in-law, Dale and Sharon Long of Bulls Gap and Mike and Barbara Long of Morristown; sisters-in-law, Barbara Park and Wilma Park of Parrottsville and Brenda Long of Morristown; grandchildren, Matthew Morgan, Nicholas “Nick” Morgan, Jonathan Morgan and Jacob Morgan of Murfressboro, Veactoria “Shae” Winstead of Morristown and Morgan “Abbey” Hodges of Russellville; nephews, Keith, Craig, and Scott Jarnigan, Todd Park, and Jody Long; nieces, Kimberly Williams, Sharon Adkins, Nikki Fine, Shandi Whittenburg, Heather Sauceman, Kristy Park, Tiffany Fowler, Angie Witt, and Stacie Russell; several great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends from her paper route and Walmart; and last, but certainly not least, her two fur babies, Lucy and Lizzy, whom she loved very much. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, November 19th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12 p.m. Saturday, November 20th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
