Wayne Patton Walker, age 80, of Bean Station, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born on July 10, 1945 to Roy and Minnie Walker. Wayne was saved and has been a faithful member of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church since April, 1974. He was ordained as a deacon at that church in January, 1989. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Jean Walker; parents; and siblings, Linda Miller, Estel Walker, Lorene Walker, and Kyle Walker. He is survived by his son, Richard (Tara) Walker of Bean Station; daughter, Stephanie (Eddie) McCubbins of Bean Station; grandchildren, Tyler (Kristen) McCubbins, Sydney (Logan) Carter, and Joshua Walker; great-granddaughter, Emmaline Jean Carter; siblings, Mildred Hayes, Grover Walker, Zella Woody, and Donnie Walker; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 22nd at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Bob Davis, Rev. Bill Dalton, and Rev. Lonnie Knight officiating. Singers will be the Dalton family. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, January 23rd at Walker Cemetery in Bean Station for graveside services. Pallbearers will be Tyler McCubbins, Joshua Walker, Tanner Keck, Kylor Wilson, Jackson Walker, and Logan Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Walker and Gabe Johnson. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
