William David Brunson, age 76, of Strawberry Plains, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Life Care of Jefferson City. He was a member of Perry Hill Road Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama and was retired from Flowers Bakery. William loved playing baseball, watching the Atlanta Braves, was a big fan of WWE Wrestling, and was an avid Alabama Football fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ann Brunson; and parents, William Glenn and Ruby Mae Brunson. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Kevin) Jakeman; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mac) Gingles, Je’an Luke (Kai) Jakeman, Heather (Josh) Jakeman, and Glenn Jakeman; great-granddaughter, Kyla Gingles; sister, Glenda Gunnells; brother-in-law, Casey Piland; sister-in-law, Cil Melvin; and nieces and nephews, Kenneth (Melissa) Gunnells, Charlotte (Ronnie) Causey, Angie (Steve) McNeil, Missy Kozak, and Tasha Walker. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
