William Craig Short, age 51, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Craig loved watching his son, Riley play baseball and have fun on the golf course. He was a very special teacher at Morristown West High School where he taught Machine Shop. He was also very active and supportive of the Morristown West High School golf and baseball teams. Craig was an avid volunteer’s fan, and they were his favorite college sports team. He will be missed by all. He was a wonderful father, brother, and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Linda Short. He is survived by his son, Riley (Aubrey Messer) Short; step-daughter, Morgan Jenkins; sister, Rebecca (Lonnie) Price; niece’s, Courtney (Andrew) McGinnis and Lily; nephew, Zane price; uncle and aunt’s, Bob and Jane McKinney, and Judy Kesterson; special cousins, Brad and Parker McKinney; and many other special family members and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00p.m. with Rev. Sonny Davis, Rev. Davin Hatfield, and Rev. Curt Seal officiating. Family and friends will meet for an 11:30 a.m. graveside service on Thursday, May 7th at Jarnagin Cemetery. If you would like to honor Craig we ask that you wear Tennessee Vols or West High attire. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
