William “Bill” Waddell, age 86, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Bill was a plumber for most of his life. His family was most important to him and he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Maggie Waddell; and sisters, Martha Smith, Lucille Healey, Ann Valentine, Carol Cox, and Elsie Waddell. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Betty Waddell; children, Allen (Carmita) Waddell, Susan (Wendell) Akins, and Craig (Carrie) Waddell; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Williams, Vanessa (Chris) Pedraza, Savannah Waddell, and Sarah Waddell; great-grandchildren, Finley Williams, Delaney Williams, Viviana Pedraza, and Riley Williams; sisters, Pauline Long and Sandra Rashaw; brothers, John Waddell, Harold Waddell, and David Waddell; and several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, January 24th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. David Jones officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25th at Chandler-Brewer Cemetery in Sneedville for graveside services. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
