Glen Thompson, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2017 from complications arising from a stroke. 

Glen was born in Nebraska and raised in Allendale, MO, one of five children born to Forrest and Oleta Thompson. He graduated from Worth County High School in 1953 and began working for Delta Airlines in 1956.

He proudly served his country from 1958 - 1961 with the U.S. Army in Washington, DC.  After his discharge, he resumed his career with Delta Airlines in Chicago as a reservations supervisor. In 1965, he was transferred to Knoxville, TN and remained there until his retirement in 1988.

Glen loved waterskiing, NASCAR, SEC football, playing pool and went to the gym daily to work out.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joyce; and his former wife, Barbara. He is survived by his loving family: son, Mike Thompson (Dana); grandchildren, Ross and Anna; daughter, Kelly Thompson; brothers, Allen and Bill; and sister, Shirley Steward; along with countless friends and family members who were blessed to know him.

Glen touched the lives of many people with his smile and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. He will be greatly missed.

Per his wishes, no memorial services will be scheduled.
