Ava D. Cook, age 78, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at her residence. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde S. Cook; parents, John Edgar and Edna L. Patterson Beasley; and brothers, Elmer Beasley, Melvin Beasley, and Howard Beasley. She is survived by her son, Michael D. (Kristi) Cook of Knoxville; grandsons, Shawn Holmes and Wesley Cook; sisters, Carolyn (David) Hill of Talbott and Christine Beasley of Mooresburg; brothers, Burl (Lena) Beasley of Bean Station, John (Arletta) Beasley of New Market, and Clifford (Aileen) Beasley of Jefferson City; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, August 12 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Freddy Gibson officiating. Graveside services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, August 13 at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
