Johnny Edwin “Big John” Brady, age 74, of Mohawk, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a member of Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church and a retired truck driver. He was a loving father and grandfather, a great story teller with a witty sense of humor. John never met a stranger and was always full of life and love. He had a heart of gold and will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Brady; father, Clifford Brady; and mother, Anna Mae Bowlin. He is survived by his son, John (Cynthia) Brady; daughters, Karen (Steve) Wright, Jeannie (Ernie) Ervin, and Tracy (Jimmy) Henegar; step daughters whom he loved as his own, Rita (Steve) Smith and Robin (Steve) Cooper; special granddaughter, Tasha (Sheldon); grandchildren, Ashley (Jeff), Kayla, Tonya, Kristen, Sara, Raymond, Taylor, Alisha (Zach), Darleen, Cameron, Ashley, Sarah, Kaitlynn, Natalie, and Jonathan; several great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Jay (Wanda) Brady; Traci Carter whom he loved as a daughter; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 pm with Rev. Terry Greene officiating and Eulogy by Keith Lovin. Graveside services will be 11 am on Tuesday, January 17th at Jarnagin Cemetery.
