Stevan “Steve” Alan Baxley, age 65, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. In his younger days, he participated in rodeos doing calf roping and trained his favorite horse “Ann.” He was a loving and devoted father to his son, Stevan, whom he enjoyed working in the hayfields with. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ray and Vaughtie Baxley; sisters, Pauline Baxley and Mildred (Eugene) Hughes; brother, Pat Baxley; and grandparents, Lucy Turner and Albert Pettigrew. He is survived by his son, Stevan Ray Carl Baxley; brothers, David (Dot) Baxley and Bobby (Patty) Baxley; sister, Brenda Ann (Lynn) Phillips; sister-in-law, Emma Baxley; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, March 24 at Central Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Friday at the church with Rev. William Bradley and Rev. Bryan Collins officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25 at Central Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside services.
